91 days

The referral finally went through for the gastroenterologist and I was able to make an appointment. May 28th, in 91 days.

Low residue diet and logs

To help with gut inflammation I started to eat a low residue diet on January 14, 2026. A low residue diet consists of eating less than 10-15 grams of fiber and restrict foods that increase stool volume. The approved foods include apple sauce, apple juice, cream of wheat, Saltines crackers and oyster crackers, white rice, chicken, eggs, canned fruits and vegetables that don't have seeds or skin and chicken.  I've also been keeping a food, stool and cramps log since January 12th. For the food log I write what I ate and drank and any reactions. For the stool and cramps log, I write when I went, what type of stool it was, was there any warning and any cramping.  These logs will be very important when I finally get into a gastro to show the doctor my symptoms. They are also important for myself to show what are my trigger foods, what hurts and what helps.  Here is my Food log so far. After a few days I didn't record safe low residue foods unless it was a new food or that I had...

Work and a flair

I had to call off work today because as I was about to walk out the door I had a major bathroom problem. Luckily i was 3 steps from the RR and made it in time. I was afraid I would have more bathroom problems later so I called off.  I'm now at 3.5 points at work and you get fired at 5 points. I only have 4 hours of PPTO. I'm so scared I'm going to get fired because of Crohn's. I don't think I can get Intermittent Leave until I'm diagnosed. The soonest I will be able to see a gastro is in May. I really hope my Crohn's can keep from another flair until diagnosis.  From my research it was either the green beans the pancakes or the bacon I ate yesterday.

Doctor appointment

Today I met with my primary doctor to get referrals to a gastroenterologist and a dermatologist.  We talked about my life-long and recent symptoms and she agreed that everything points to Crohn's. She sent in the referrals and hopefully I will hear from them soon.
